Work environments are undergoing a profound transformation. Offices are no longer simply places dedicated to operational activities, but increasingly dynamic spaces designed to support collaboration, concentration and people’s wellbeing. Within this evolving scenario, the project developed for Alperia & Edyna – Office & Meeting Rooms in Merano, designed by Dyco, represents a meaningful example of how sofas and modular seating can contribute to the quality of professional spaces.
Within the project, Sitlosophy products were selected to interpret different functions of the workplace environment: informal meeting areas, conversation spaces, lounge zones and rooms dedicated to meetings. The result is a balanced integration of aesthetics, comfort and functionality — elements that are becoming increasingly central in the design of contemporary offices.
Informal meeting areas with the Berirama modular system
One of the distinctive elements of the project is the use of the Berirama modular seating system, designed by Alessandro Crosera for Sitlosophy. Conceived for collective environments and contract settings, Berirama responds to the new needs of modern workplaces, where flexibility, comfort and quality of experience have become key design factors.
The system is based on modular elements that allow different seating configurations by combining seats, backrests and armrests. This flexibility makes it possible to create linear compositions, corner layouts or central islands that adapt easily to different architectural contexts.
A defining feature of Berirama is the presence of backrests and upholstered panels of different heights, which help create small, more intimate environments within open spaces. These elements enhance acoustic comfort while providing a sense of privacy, making them ideal for informal meetings, short discussions or moments of concentration.

Beyond their functional role, these upholstered panels also become architectural elements capable of shaping the identity of the space. Berirama therefore goes beyond the concept of a simple seating system and becomes a design tool for structuring space, defining lounge areas, collaborative zones and informal meeting points within the office.
From a construction perspective, the system is designed to ensure durability and comfort in high-traffic contract environments. The seat structure is made of multilayer wood with polyurethane foam padding, while backrests and armrests are also built with multilayer wood and high-density shaped foam. The base features a steel structure with tubular metal legs and adjustable glides, ensuring stability and long-term reliability.
The system can also integrate functional accessories, such as tables, work surfaces and free-standing desks with cable management solutions, expanding the possible configurations and making Berirama particularly suitable for hybrid work environments and collaborative spaces.
The strength of Berirama lies in its ability to combine contemporary design, modular flexibility and seating comfort, offering a versatile solution for corporate lounges, coworking areas, informal meeting zones and collaborative workplaces.
Versatile seating for lounges and waiting areas: the Host collection
Alongside lounge areas and informal meeting zones, the project also includes waiting areas and spaces for conversation that require seating solutions capable of combining elegance, versatility and comfort.
In these contexts, Host seating by Sitlosophy plays a key role. The collection is characterized by a clean and contemporary design, conceived to integrate naturally within interior design projects for professional environments.

Its refined lines and balanced proportions make Host particularly suitable for corporate lounges, reception areas and informal meeting spaces, where comfort must coexist with a discreet and sophisticated aesthetic.

The lightweight structure and the clear design language allow Host to fit seamlessly into a wide range of interior projects, maintaining visual harmony with the surrounding architecture and other furniture elements.
The role of furniture in contemporary workplace design
Projects such as the one developed for Alperia & Edyna demonstrate how the design of workplace environments today requires an increasingly integrated approach, where architecture, interior design and furniture interact to create functional and welcoming spaces.
The introduction of lounge areas, informal meeting spaces and conversation zones reflects the evolution of organizational models that increasingly prioritize collaboration, flexibility and the quality of the workplace experience.
Within this context, seating systems and modular furniture play a strategic role. They are no longer merely functional elements but become tools for spatial organization, capable of shaping the identity and usability of the workplace.
The Berirama and Host collections interpret this evolution by offering solutions specifically designed for contemporary work environments, where comfort, modularity and design quality contribute to creating spaces that encourage interaction, collaboration and wellbeing.
The Alperia & Edyna project demonstrates how furniture selection can become an integral part of architectural design, helping create work environments that support relationships, productivity and the everyday experience of people.
